HOW TO THROW THE ULTIMATE BUDDY THE ELF THEMED CHRISTMAS MOVIE NIGHT WATCH PARTY!
If you’re reading this, it looks like you’re looking to have an Elf Christmas movie night party! Buddy the Elf, where’s my invite?! I’ll bring the maple syrup!
If there’s one thing you should know about me, I was raised to LOVE Christmas and let me tell you my love for Christmas grows even more every season! Elf is my all time favorite movie so if anyone knows how to have the BEST Christmas movie night watching Elf, it’s me!
Fun fact: I was in the 9th grade when elf was released, and I saw it 3x in the movie theater.
Christmas is the best time of the year and watching Christmas movies every night definitely gets me in the Christmas spirit enjoying Christmas cookies and snacks.
So let’s get into how to throw the BEST ELF THEMED CHRISTMAS MOVIE NIGHT this holiday season. If you’ve watched Elf, you can guarantee there will be lots of sugar involved in this Elf movie night.
With that being said, all of our Christmas movie night treats will be related to the movie, elf.
I personally designed all of my Buddy the Elf Movie Night quote labels using Canva and then taped two mini candy canes together to hold up the labels.
And as a THANK YOU for coming to my blog post, I’m gifting you my Buddy the Elf Christmas labels for free! There’s room for everyone on the nice list! 🙂 Click HERE to sign up for my e-newsletter and download my Christmas Buddy the Elf labels for your next Christmas party!
Beef and cheese Elf platter
“You Stink. You smell like beef and cheese. You don’t smell like Santa”
Before we dive into the sweets, we’ll cover our savory snacks with an easy beef and cheese platter. To make the cheese slices look clean, make it easy on yourself and buy the pre-sliced cheese. I found mine at Target and paired it with Hickory Farms beef stick slices.
Buddy The Elf Hat Veggie Tray
“It’s just nice to meet another human who shares my affinity for Elf culture.” – Buddy the Elf
It wouldn’t be a Buddy the Elf Veggie tray without candy corn on the board! This elf themed veggie board is easy and will be a nice break from all of the sweets for your Elf Christmas movie night.
Buddy the Elf Hat Veggie Tray Ingredients:
- Cucumbers
- Broccoli
- Cheese cubes
- Red bell pepper
- Crackers (Optional)
- Ranch (Optional)
The extra items I put on the board to add some dimension to the hat include mini marshmallows, candy corn, a candy cane and green grapes.I also added a bowl of ranch and crackers.
Buddy The Elf Bugle Hats
“I just like to smile. Smiling’s my favorite.” – Buddy the Elf
This Buddy the Elf hat is on the sweet side and is so good! I will forewarn you, these hats are a lot of work so my PRO TIP: Only decorate the hat portion to about 15 bugles (the hats that will be on top) and the rest will just be dipped in green chocolate. If you have the time, by all means decorate all of them and if you have leftovers, it will be great to add to an Elf themed goodie box
Buddy the Elf Bugle Hat Ingredients:
- Bugles
- Green Melting Chocolate
- Yellow Icing Gel (The kind you write with)
- Red Jimmie Sprinkles
Snowflake Peppermint Bark
“And then we’ll make snow angels for two hours”
To go along with making snow angels, I had to make peppermint bark shaped as snowflakes.
You find these snowflake molds at Michael’s or any craft store/holiday section.
You can follow any peppermint bark recipe you find. It’s a really easy christmas treat and requires minimal ingredients.
Snowflake Peppermint Bark Ingredients:
- Chocolate Meltables
- Peppermint Meltables
- Crushed Candy Cane/Peppermint
- Snowflake Molds
I love using the sweet tooth fairy meltables for all of my baked goods. Utilizing the peppermint flavor meltables makes this recipe even easier. I add the crushed peppermint on top for just something extra.
You’ll want to make the peppermint bark in reverse, adding the crushed peppermint and melted peppermint melts first, freeze and then follow with the chocolate melts.
Buddy’s Spaghetti Breakfast CookieS
“We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup”
It would not be an Elf Christmas movie night without the famous Buddy Spaghetti Breakfast. As odd as his combination was, these cookies are one to write to the North Pole about.
This was my first year making these cookies, and I quickly became a huge fan. I will warn you, these are elfing good!
Buddy the Elf Spaghetti Cookie Ingredients:
- White Chocolate
- Chow Mein
- Maple Syrup
- Chocolate Syrup
- Mini Marshmallow Bits
- Mini M&Ms
- Pop Tart pieces
HERE is how you make Buddy the Elf Spaghetti Cookies. These no bake Christmas cookies are really easy to make and turn out so cute!
Snowball Cookies
“Snowball Fight”
Include the traditional Christmas snowball cookies in your Elf movie night from the famous snowball fight scene in central park.
You can either make these cookies yourself or make it easy on yourself and use store bought snowball cookies from the grocery store like I did.
Sugar Cookie Truffles (Cotton balls)
For this Buddy the Elf themed Christmas watch party, I had to incorporate cotton balls from the doctor’s office where Buddy eats all the cotton balls during his finger poke shot.
For “Cottonballs” I baked my sugar cookie truffles. These no bake sugar cookie truffles are always a holiday go too. They’re so easy to bake on any holiday. Instead of decorating the sugar cookie truffles, you’ll just use white candy melts and that’s it!
Sugar Cookie Truffles Ingredients:
- Pilsbury Ready To Bake Holiday Cookies
- 2 oz Cream Cheese
- White Melting Chocolate
Buddy the Elf themed sugar cookies (Buddy Hat)
Another easy but necessary item for throwing the ultimate Elf Christmas movie watch party is the Pillsbury Elf themed cookies. They’ve brought these back every year for the last few seasons so let’s hope they continue to do so!
Christmas Hugs (Kisses)
“Does somebody need a hug”
These are an easy addition to the Elf movie night. Hugs are the striped version of Hershey kisses and just a fun treat to add to your Elf themed party.
Variety of Nuts
“Son of a nutcracker”
This is not pictured, nor was it at my Elf Christmas movie night party because I just thought of it while I was writing this blog post on How to throw the ultimate Buddy the Elf themed Christmas watch party movie night.
It would be nice to have a salty treat like a bowl of nuts for when Buddy says, “Son of a nutcracker”.
Popcorn & M&Ms
It would not be a Christmas movie night watch party without the classic popcorn and m&ms.
As Buddy would say, “But Santa’s coming, there’s so much to do!” so we’re getting extra with the popcorn and m&ms for this movie night.
I bought these popcorn boxes so every person has their own popcorn to enjoy during the movie and topped them with green and yellow m&ms. I also set aside a bowl of Christmas m&ms so every person can add additional m&ms.
Aside from all of these Elf themed treats for our Christmas movie night, I decorated the table with Christmas decor as well. I loved the candy cane tiered dessert tray and positioned it as Buddy traveling through the 7 levels of the candy cane forest.
There are so many ways you can decorate with fake snow, signs etc. or you can make it as simple as you’d like. The best part is you’ll be watching Elf, the best Christmas movie (in my opinion) during the happiest season of them all.
